Shoprite Group, South Africa’s leading retailer, has commenced its bursary application process for the years 2024 and 2025. The initiative aims to support high-achieving students aspiring to pursue careers in the retail sector.
Students currently enrolled in degree programs related to accounting, biological sciences, criminology, information technology, logistics and supply chain management, retail business management, food sciences, and agricultural sciences are eligible to apply for funding from February 1st to April 30th, 2024.
The comprehensive bursary covers tuition fees and accommodation expenses, providing substantial support to recipients throughout their academic journey.
A noteworthy aspect of the program is the assurance of employment opportunities upon graduation, facilitating a smooth transition into the retail industry. Beneficiaries will have the privilege to learn from seasoned professionals, industry experts, and mentors, enhancing their professional development.
Moreover, bursary recipients will receive a monthly grocery allowance and gain access to the Shoprite Employee Wellness program, further enriching their overall experience.
In the preceding financial year, the Group allocated R14.9 million towards its bursary program, benefiting 200 deserving students.
